OVERVIEW

Mardi himal trek is short and spectacular trip in the Annapurna region. Since this trek is officially opened in 2011, this trekking route is still unspoiled and has hidden beauty. Newly opened Mardi Himal base camp trek offer imaging view of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri and Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) ranges. Mardi Himal trek is the best alternative to the Annapurna base Camp and Ghorepani Poon hill trek for those who want to go through highest altitude at very short period of time.

This is short relatively easy and most beautiful trek not far from the Pokhara. This trip covers some of the breathtaking Himalayan ranges, glacial valleys and hidden landscape of the Annapurna Region with diverse culture and tradition. There are limited teahouses with basic facilities so camping trek is also possible in this route. The trail goes along small winding paths, through miraculous rhododendron forest until you reach the forest camp at an elevation of 3300 meter. The landscape eventually setting turns on the rugged trail dominated by the rugged high mountains landscape with amazing views of Mardi Himal, Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), Annapurna and Hiunchuli. The trail undulates along the ridge and after tiresome walk; you climb up to High camp and Mardi Himal base Camp on the following day. The entire Annapurna range is visible from the mardi himal base camp view point.

DETAILED ITINERARY

  • Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu (1400m/4593ft)

    Arrival at the Kathmandu. Meet, assist and transfer to hotel.

    Overnight at Hotel. (Welcome Dinner)

  • Day 02: Fly to Pokhara (25 mins), Drive to Dhampus (1 hr), Trek to Forest Camp (6 hrs).

    After early breakfast, meet your Guide and take a scenic flight to Pokhara. After arriving at Pokhara, meet our Sherpa and drive to Dhampus from where our trekking starts.

  • Day 03: Trek from Forest Camp to High Camp (3700m/121405ft) - 6 hours

    As we continue our trek through the thick forest, you will be accompanied by various sounds of insects like Cicadas. The trail continues to get darker and quieter despite of sunshine, with damp soil and smell of decayed leaves and woods. Reach High camp for tonight.

  • Day 04: Hike upto Mardi Himal Base Camp and return to Mid Camp or Low Camp – 7

    Early morning around 5:00, start hike upto Mardi Himal Base Camp also a view point where you will have amazing view of mountains like Mardi Himal (5587m), Annapurna South(7219m) and Annapurna I (8091m), Hiunchuli (6441m), Tent Peak (5695m), Machapuchhre (6993) also called Fishtail. After spending some time, we descend down to High Camp for our full breakfast and descend down to Mid camp or Low camp according to our convenience.

  • Day 05: Trek to Sidhing - 2 hours and drive to Pokhara - 3 hrs, fly to Kathmandu.

    We will start our trek early morning after breakfast. Descend down to Siding for lunch and from there drive back to Pokhara. Fly back to Kathmandu, last flight from Pokhara to Kathmandu will be at 3:35 PM.

  • Day 06: Final Departure.

     Rest until your final departure. (Breakfast Included)
